Happy New Year!!! Here on the ship we celebrated by playing
BINGO for some donated prize items (mostly Chilean candy and goofy hats). At
midnight a large contingent of us went up to the bow to count down, yell,
scream and ring in the New Year. The mate on watch even blew the fog horn for
us. Not quite the New York City ball drop, but it was fun.
A very overexposed
photo of Lindsey (ASC), the master of ceremonies at BINGO.
While this wasn’t my first New Year’s Eve in the southern
hemisphere, it was the first one where light was on the horizon. The sun does
set (we’re not too far south yet), but it doesn’t get 100% dark at night
anymore. Just another one of the awesome parts about being in this part of the
world!
A sliver of light on
the horizon divides the night sky from the water.
